Coming from Argentina, authentic products are hard to find in this area. I drive all the way from south Alexandria to this gem. The butcher section has all the Argentinian asado cuts. Snacks that just have something nostalgic about it. But nonetheless delicious, and my all time favorite place to buy empanadas tapas. And around the holidays they bring in this cidre "real cidra" which is the only place I've ever seen them. This Latin market definitely caters more to the South American community. 10/10 recommend

After trying several local butchers and not finding a good selection of meat for Latina cooking, we decided to drive cross town to checkout this market. They are tucked just behind the shopping area that borders route 7. But wow what a find!! They had a fully stocked butcher shop with pork chops, carne asada, chicharron, and chorizo. We bought it all. The meat was very fresh and the butcher carved our specific meat selections to our request. The market also has a wide selection of prepared and fresh ingredients. This eliminated a second stop to complete the meal prep. Overall, this market has the selection to meet the needs of your Latina meal. Check them out, enjoy cooking your own authentic Latina meal soon.

Well, let's be honest... I'm not Latin. Good, Now that we got that out of the way let's begin shall we? I was looking for ingredients for a recipe and the "large" local box grocery chain did not have a couple Latin specific ingredients. I pulled out the mobile device and fired up ye 'ole Yelp app, low and behold I came across several Latin markets near my work in Tysons. Based on location and reviews I chose Plaza Latina Market. One of the ladies was very friendly and helped me find a couple things on my list I could not locate and she gave some great advice about some other items from a Latina perspective. Because of that interaction, I would definitely return!

Clean Latino market with a variety of products from Central and South America. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised that the market smelled good; no foul smells like at most Latino markets. Argentinian and Braizilian style cuts of beef like entraña, picanha etc. found here! I was glad I could find different types of tea/mate, baking creams, chocolates, guava sweets, spices, juices and peppers/ajis among many many other great Latino brands. I did find 1 product that was expired so I advised the nice cashiers and they mentioned they would remove them from their shelves. I didn't come in looking for anything in particular but left with 2 bags full of sweets among other groceries. Will definitely come back to shop here for some hard to find Latino staple products and good old friendly customer service.

A little bit of every corner from Latin America . If you want Argentinian cut for your BBQ this is the place to go. The meat is amazing. Nice wine selection, cookies, cheeses and any other little treat you may be nostalgic for. People are really friendly and helpful. Prices are very reasonable, very convenient. A small Bodega well organized and super clean, everything they sell is fresh and properly handled, there's even a small section with fresh produce.

Woah...talk about a needle in a haystack. Saturday morning we decide to stroll around the neighborhood and grab some breakfast at Jason's Deli, only to find out they aren't open early. So we walk around to the neighboring plaza. Having visited Subways several times, we were never brave enough to check out the plaza because the exterior looks rather dated. This time we have time to kill and curiosity to fill. We step into this rather small market with aisles barely wide enough for our stroller. At first glance it was your typical latin market, but we were very surprised just how clean this place was...especially their small produce and meat section...which so many grocery stores/markets fail miserably. We perused the entire store all the while trying to find a reason to like this place and come back again. It wasn't until we check-out that I found my reason to come back. On the counter, next to the big container of bread rolls was a tray of SALTENAS!!! My eyes lit up brilliantly. I asked if they have these everyday, and the confused cashier looked at me and replied. "...eh...Saltenas!! ". She didn't speak English very well so I tried my best to remember, "everyday" in Spanish...but it didn't come to me. Anyway she told me they came from the night before and were cold. I asked for a meat filled Saltenas (they also had chicken), which was $2.99 and she microwaved it in the back for me. I've only had saltenas from two other places, and the filling was a little more on the runny side. These saltenas were more on the drier side, which probably makes storing them overnight better. Anyway it was delicious and instead of tasting more like beef stew, it reminded me more like tacos meat. Authentic?!?! Perhaps not, but delicious...absolutely. Definitely coming back again.
